Blair is the CEO and founder of Ventura Training and Athletics training studio in Ventura, CA. He has been in the trenches training clients, educating and mentoring other trainers and researching the latest science since 1998. After many years of frustration with clients, he was left with nothing but questions. Questions like how do we know what we are doing with a client is doing what it’s supposed to be doing or are we just creating problems? or how are we assessing our clients to get an idea of the status of their neuromuscular system and a starting point? or why do these tightnesses just stay tight or get tighter? or why when I do something with one client that seems like a positive outcome but if I do the same with another client then I sometimes get a negative one? Then enters Greg Roskopf’s Muscle Activation Techniques™. MAT™ started to answer a lot of these questions.
Blair’s progressive training approach combines the knowledge of extensive education with experiential wisdom to ensure that his clients and athletes get the best training and service that science and experience has to offer. Blair customizes programs based on needs of the individual, from aging adults to young athletes to seasoned pros. Blair’s innovative style of working with the human body continues to set new standards in athletic development and achievement. Blair specializes in correcting the muscle and joint imbalance that contribute to chronic pain an injury. He does this in a variety of ways including MAT™ and custom designed resistance training strategies to restore the body’s alignment.
Realizing that most successful people have average genetics and limited time – but also a competitive desire to look and feel their best – Blair tailored his protocols so that busy professionals could achieve exceptional results safely and without the unreasonable time commitment that so often derails health and fitness ambitions. Blair’s passion is to help VTA’s clients attain the physical and mental joy that he has achieved for himself. His revolutionary training program has inspired a passionate loyalty from his clients.
Fun fact: One of Blair’s favorite weekly activities is disc golfing. He is looking forward to the day when he’ll be able to disc golf with his little boy Beckett.

Jeff Wright, MATcs
Jeff Wright is a Muscle Activation Techniques Specialist and Mental & Physical Strength and Conditioning coach for Los Angeles Pierce College Baseball Team. He was inspired to become a MAT™ practitioner after it had allowed him to play baseball at Pierce College as a 27 year old freshman after an 8 year career in the US Army as a paratrooper.
Prior to joining VTA, Jeff served in the United States Army as a paratrooper and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. During two combat deployments and a multitude of training, Jeff learned how to overcome obstacles in even the most trying of times. Jeff’s ability to accomplish the mission despite a lack of resources and in extremely adverse conditions is transplanted into the way he helps his clients identify and overcome their imbalances.
Jeff is committed to continuing education through Muscle Activation Techniques™ and Resistance Training Specialist.
Fun Fact: Jeff once backpacked with over 85 lbs. in high-altitude (7k plus) 385 miles in 25 days.

I have been active all my life riding horses, competing in Triathlons, hiking and traveling. But then I noticed my body changing and not able to do the physical activities I enjoyed. I went to Blair who guided me through a progressive program that was appropriate for me to regain muscle tone, strength and mobility. Now I am able to do these activities again and know my body can tolerate them.
Because of my experience with Blair I decided to pursue my next career learning how to appropriately train and progress the human body. My focus is helping my clients regain and maintain a strong body in order to have a healthy and physically active lifestyle.
Fun Fact: Hiking 18 miles to Half Dome in Yosemite National Park and being able to move the next day!!
